Discipleship keeps ending up
in the someday pile.
Not something extra to wedge into a full week. Not a program we run a few people through. It was designed by God to be a way of living the life we already have. Let me show you.

Let’s just be honest
That was never the issue. (Heck, some of us are the Pastor!)
But making disciples, helping someone else take new steps toward Jesus and grow in maturity, always lands in the “additional” pile. One more thing to talk people into. Maybe, if we’re honest, a program we keep meaning to run a few folks through… someday.
So mostly, it waits.
And in the quiet, a lot of us believe something that isn’t true: Maybe I’m just not wired for this. Everyone else knows how, and I’m the one who doesn’t.
That’s a lie. And I’d know. I believed it for years. As a pastor.
Here’s what’s actually going on
Here’s the thing: it’s not that we’re not committed. We’d run through a wall for the people we love. We’d disciple every one of them, if someone showed us how it fits a real, ordinary life instead of adding a “new project” into the calendar.
We’ve just never been shown.
You are not the problem.
And you were never too busy for this.
It was never about finding more time
Almost every Christian I know, me first in line, was handed a discipleship model built on two things: Knowledge and Performance.
Learn more. Try harder. Run the program. Feel guilty when it fizzles. Repeat.
No wonder it feels like one more job. But that’s not what Jesus did. Not even close.
Discipleship is simply this: moving from unbelief to belief in the gospel, in every ordinary part of life, and helping the people around you do the same.
Not a program you graduate from. Not something you talk anyone into.
So “find more time” was never the fix. The shift is smaller—and bigger—than that:
The whole shift, in one line
We stop treating discipleship as something additional to add to a busy life, and start living it as something intentional, inside the everyday rhythms we already have.
The meals. The neighbors. The ordinary week. God built life that way on purpose. Go figure.
Not one more thing to do. A whole new way to live.
That’s exactly what this is for
The Everyday Disciple Workshop
A Simple, Reproducible Way to Make Discipleship
Part of Normal, Everyday Life
Five short, practical video lessons and three bonus trainings, self-paced. Watch and re-watch, starting today.
No cohort. No live calls. No seminary. Watch on the couch, in the car, on your lunch break. It’s yours for life.
Just me, walking you through the exact shift Tina and I made, the one that turned making disciples from something we sorta dreaded into the most natural part of our life.
The same shift I’ve spent 20+ years teaching busy parents, pastors, and regular old Christians in more than 30 countries.
Full Workshop: just $97 once.
Or 3 payments of $37.
Here’s the path you’ll walk
Instant, lifetime access on any device, ready the moment you finish reading this.
Where this started for Tina and me: two crazy-busy parents (a pastor who felt like a fraud) discovering and mastering a way of making disciples that finally fit real life.
What discipleship actually is, and why we’ve been doing it backwards. Where “sharing your faith” stops being the scary thing you keep meaning to be braver about.
The heart of it. Who God actually remade you to be, and why your DOing was always meant to flow from your BEing. Where you lay down the exhausting lie that your worth is something you earn.
The ordinary, God-given rhythms already built into your week, and how each one quietly becomes a place discipleship happens. This is additional → intentional made practical. (Includes a worksheet to map it to your own week and get started.)
How Jesus balanced his own life (with the Father, his people, and the world) so you find a rhythm that fits your life and can sustain it, instead of burning out.
Plus three bonus trainings
See the difference between the Proactive discipleship opportunities you plan, and the Reactive ones that come up along the path of life and in relationships.
A fast-paced training with immediate benefit if you’re leading anyone at all: your kids, your team, your group. So they mature and can do the things you currently do.
Making disciples can be hard. What secures your joy and freedom along the way is the power of the Holy Spirit, not your own strength and cleverness. The pressure is off.
Plus quizzes, worksheets and resources, so you can pass what you’re learning on to others. With confidence.
Full Workshop: just $97 once.
Or 3 payments of $37.
In case you’re wondering
That’s exactly what it’s built for. Go through it for your own life first, then teach it to your leaders and your groups. It’s simple and reproducible on purpose, so the way you start living it is the same way you pass it on.
Perfect. That’s the whole reason it exists. It won’t add anything to your week. It changes how you see the week you already have.
Good. You don’t need to be. Some of the people I’ve watched come most alive in this had barely cracked a Bible.
Then you’re exactly who Jesus loves to use. Start with the people already around you. No title required.
I get it. That’s why the lessons are short, plain, and yours to re-watch forever. No cohort to fall behind. There’s nothing to fall behind on.
If you love Jesus and quietly wish making disciples felt natural instead of additional, you’re in the right place.
Don’t just take my word for it
And from the people who’ve done it

If you want to know
why I teach this
I haven’t told you the “why” yet.
Let me take you back to where it cracked open for me.
When Tina and I were younger parents, life was just… full. Businesses, three little kids, church every time the doors opened.
And without ever deciding to, our whole faith had folded down into a Sunday-morning thing. Kids in Sunday school. Us in rows.
Then, go figure, God called me to pastor a very large church. Head of production, a fancy way of saying I ran the big show. Busier than ever.
One ordinary night it hit me and wouldn’t let go: I don’t have a single friend who isn’t already a Christian. Not one.
I was at the building six days a week. Then I’d drive home, watch the garage door roll down behind me, and disappear inside.
That door became a picture of my whole life. Christians on the inside. The people I was supposedly on mission for, on the other side of a door I kept closing.
And the guilt sat on my chest. For my kids, learning by watching me that Jesus is mostly a Sunday thing. And for the people I was leading, with nothing better to follow.
Around that stretch I was doing missions work in hard places: Sudan, Burma, Sierra Leone during the wars.
The believers I met over there had almost nothing. No buildings, barely any possessions. And yet they were being the church: full of joy, all in, woven into each other’s lives.

Sierra Leone and northeast Sudan, 2002–2003.
Then I’d fly home to the big stage, the screens, the production schedule. And I couldn’t stop asking:
Out there, we were being the church. Back home, I feel like I’m just… running one. What if we lived at home the way we live on these trips?
Turns out you can.
God moved Tina and me and a handful of others to Tacoma, Washington. And we made one decision that changed everything: we’d live there like missionaries who’ve been sent to another country. One that happened to be called Tacoma.
We opened our home. We treated whoever came through it like family, not guests. And in the middle of ordinary weeks (meals, mess, real relationships) we got to walk with people as they moved from unbelief to belief.
It surprised us how well it worked. Making disciples stopped being something we crammed into the calendar and just became the way we lived. For me, for Tina, for our kids.
Like the Book of Acts.
Except now it was happening in my own kitchen.
But none of it started with finding more time. It started the day God showed me something I’d stared at my whole life and never seen: he’d already built our ordinary days perfectly for this.
We didn’t need more hours. We needed to shift from seeing disciple-making as additional to intentional.
That’s the shift this whole workshop hands you.

The part I most want you to hear
They’re the how. The why underneath is what actually sets you free.
When you start to believe, and live out of, your true gospel identity, everything changes. I mean everything.
For years I’ve said it in our communities until people can say it in their sleep:
We are a family of missionary servants, sent as disciples who make disciples.
There’s a lot tucked into that, and we go deep on it inside the workshop. But for right now, let this one line land:
Our doing flows from our being.
You are an image-bearer of God. You are already loved. Jesus did it all. And out of that, you get to live.
Not should. Not have to. Get to.
Birds don’t fly because they’re supposed to. They fly because they get to. They’re birds. That’s what they were created for.
So take a breath.
The pressure’s off.
So here’s where you are
One road feels familiar. Discipleship stays in the “additional” pile, the thing you’ll finally get to when life slows down.
But it won’t.
So you stay a half-step behind, wondering if you’re doing enough. Still hoping your kids, your friends, and the people around your table catch a faith you’re not always sure they’ve seen lived out in real life.
Not because you don’t care, but because no one ever showed you how discipleship could fit inside the life you already have.
The other road is quieter, but freer. The pressure starts to come off.
You stop trying to add discipleship onto a full life and start seeing the disciple-making opportunities already hidden inside it: around your table, in your conversations, through your ordinary rhythms, with the people God has already placed in front of you.
That’s not one more thing to do. It’s a new freedom to live: the freedom, confidence, and closeness Jesus shared with his own disciples and promised to us.
That road starts with a small investment and an afternoon or two of honest attention. I know which road I’d take. I did take it.
And over time, Tina and I watched it reshape the way we lived with God, with our kids, with our friends, and around our table. Not perfectly, but in ways that were honest, simple, and real.
Let me show you how.
